Best eSIM for Israel 2026
What makes an Israel eSIM worth buying - coverage, data limits, local calls, price, and start-date control. How SabraConnect compares with Airalo, Holafly and Nomad, and when each one is the better pick.
Short answer: SabraConnect is the best Israel eSIM for travelers who need a local +972 number: $25 for 30 days with 350GB of 5G data, 3,000 minutes and 1,500 SMS on the Pelephone network. Holafly, Nomad and most Airalo plans are data-only. For light data use on a short trip, a small Airalo or Nomad plan can cost less. SabraConnect publishes this guide.
Best for: Travelers comparing Israel eSIM options before buying
Coverage: Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Eilat, the Dead Sea, the Negev, and major highways
What separates a good Israel eSIM from a bad one
Most travel eSIMs offer data, but Israel has specific needs: 4G and 5G coverage outside major cities, a local Israeli number for restaurant and hotel callbacks, ride apps and SMS codes, and enough data for navigation, video calls, and hotel check-ins across a two-week trip.
How to activate
Install the eSIM before your flight on WiFi, then tap Activate now or schedule a start date up to 90 days ahead (installing the QR code alone does not start the plan). When you land, switch mobile data to the eSIM line and turn on data roaming - no steps at the airport.
Coverage across Israel
SabraConnect is an authorized Pelephone reseller and runs on the Pelephone network, one of Israel's largest carriers. Expect 5G in major cities such as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa and 4G LTE elsewhere; for remote desert or border areas, check Pelephone's coverage map before you travel.
